Luwei Quan
Luwei Quan was a Clinical Research Coordinator in the Buckner Laboratory. As a member of Dr. Mark Eldaief’s research team, she worked on projects which examine precision functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) to map individual cortical networks within depressed patients, as well as the effects of precisely targeting these individual networks using transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS). This research aims to explore both the potential clinical and functional benefits of such personalized treatment, in addition to the underlying mechanisms of TMS to treat depression.
Luwei holds a BA from Brown University in Health and Human Biology, with an independent track in Psychosocial Determinants of Health, for which she received Sigma Xi honors from her department. After graduating, she worked as a Research Assistant at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, where she conducted research and co-authored several papers on various topics untangling the complex relationships between the environment, mental illness, and physical health.
She hopes to pursue a PhD in Clinical Psychology in the future, and is particularly interested in immigrant and minority mental health. In her spare time, she enjoys painting, common rain frogs, and caring for her 50+ plants.
